This week has been so insane, I completely forgot that we’ve got our own blog, too. This week we launched the trailer for J-Stache, the cartoon based on John Oates and his talking, beer-swilling, skirt-chasing mustache. So far the story’sgoneallovertheplace. Seriously, Reuters? Awesome.
The series stars John Oates as himself and Dave Attell as J-Stache. Check out the trailer below and be amazed. After that, read J-Stache’s potentially NSFW musings over at JStache.com or follow him on Twitter.
I’ve been a longtime fan of interweb show The Burg.Watching the characters subtly poke holes in the self-important Williamsburg hipster movement has provided some great comedy fodder. Watch the short “Hip or Dangerous” and try to tell me you haven’t thought the same thing.
When the show went suspiciously absent for the past year, I was pretty bummed to see it go. Apparently, they’ve been without a sponsor (despite a brief summer Motorola sponsorship that didn’t seem to quite fit), and are looking for a new one. They’re releasing a few shorts recorded earlier this year in hopes of bringing in a fresh draw of fans, and unless they can get a following, it looks like there may not be a season two.
So check out the new episode, “Ethnic,” watch the previous episodes (you can subscribe on iTunes), and tell a friend. Who says gentrification isn’t funny?
I’ve been a horrible LOST fan. I kind of stopped watching the show about a month or two ago, so I’ve fallen behind. Thus, I can’t watch tonight’s season finale at 9/8c on ABC.
Which also means I’m going to have to avoid the internet tomorrow. Bye til Monday, interwebs!
Yes yes, I’m talking about the finale of Gossip Girl (not that Lost show, Davis)!
I’ve been in mourning all day because my Monday nights will no longer involve new episodes of Gossip Girl and copious amounts of cheap red wine on a couch in the East Village!
I never thought I’d say this, but I’m looking forward to fall and the new season of GG…three months without Chuck Bass just makes my heart sad.
Anyways, lots happened (think weddings, hookups/cheating/breakups, selling horses for cocaine, fleeing the country and private jets and lots of other ridiculousness) so check out Daily Intel’s genius Gossip Girl blog for their weekly tally of “what was real, not real, and every little bit of Vera Wang taffeta in between,” of the season finale.
I just read on Gawker (and then verified my findings on Gothamist) that MTV’s The Real World will most definitely be coming to Brooklyn this summer to film the 21st season of the show (and the 3rd in NYC).
“The Brooklyn season, like the Hollywood season, will focus on what people loved about ‘The Real World’ when it launched in 1992 – genuine people, meaningful conflict and powerful stories,” said co-creator Jon Murray.
Oh please. What Jon really means is that you can expect yet another booze filled, drug addled, sex having, bitch fighting, self hating, guilty pleasure season of reality trash TV! Yesssss!
Oh, and MTV hasn’t said what neighborhood they’ll be ruining yet, so just sit tight for that announcement!
I’m holding out hope that though the Real Worlders may be living in BK (and hopefully not in my neighborhood!), they’ll be playing in Manhattan (fingers crossed).
This show is called Tunnels no Minasan no Okage Deshita and it involves contestants squeezing themselves through holes in an oncoming wall before being pushed into a body of water. It’s like a real life game of tetris!
How I’ve never heard of this show before today is beyond me.
Ever geeked out so hard on a news headline that you wanted to make it into a shirt and wear it around town? No? …didn’t think so. But just in case you have, now you can.
CNN has finally! made it possible for you to purchase tshirts with your current favorite video headlines on it.
Here’s what CNN’s VP of interactive marketing, Andy Mitchell, had to say about it: “The project arose from a brief to build awareness and drive traffic to the organization’s online video offerings and communicate that the site houses more than just news videos.”
Umm, I actually think this is kind of cool, although I don’t think I’d ever buy one, except for maybe the one I posted above…which is a fake CNN shirt from a Gawker contest.
