Truth in Website Logos

05.13.2008

Sometimes I wish that logos, in addition to showing you a company’s name, also gave you an idea as to what kind of service they provided. In an age where new websites are launching at an enormous rate, why can’t they just tell us what they do rather than actually make us look at the site?

Thankfully, College Humor is here to help us out with their list of more accurate website logos.

In the same spirit, I’ve made a more accurate version of our logo that I think represents us better than our current one.

Funsize Friday 5/9

Another Friday, another list of junk I’m too lazy to actually write about. This week’s list: Single Serving Sites. Websites that do one thing, and do it very well. Here’s a few of my personal favorites.

- Things I Did Last Night – Sent my way by Yewknee. I hope that’s not what he was doing last night.

- Is Lost a Repeat? – Made me realized I haven’t been keeping up with my only current TV obsession. Kate has a different one.

- Am I Awesome? – This site says true things.

- Google It – For when someone asks an easily answerable question.

- OM NOM NOM NOM – Gives me giggles. Keep refreshing the page.

- Hillary Clinton is Your New HD-DVD Player – A close cousin to Barack Obama is Your New Bicycle.

FUNSIZE BONUS: Manbabies – because it’s subtly terrifying.

Do you find yourself out of the loop when conversations with friends veer towards “The Internet”? Do you find yourself asking, “when is peanut butter jelly time,” or perhaps, “I wonder what Jeff Goldblum’s voice sounds like slowed down?”

Greg Rutter is here to help you. You should have seen this.

UPDATE: I’m saddened to see “Who’s that Pokemon” didn’t make the cut, because it reduces me to tears of laughter with its mere 14 seconds every time I watch it.
